A HDC is a circuit that allows a computer to read and write information to a hard drive. It also acts as a bus which connects the hard drive to the rest of the computer components. Modern hard drives will have HDCs already connected to them on either the top or bottom of the drive. An example of a HDC is a Serial AT Attachment (SATA). It is a computer bus that connects host bus adapters to mass storage devices.
