1.8 INTERNAL MEMORY

Internal memory typically refers to random access memory (RAM), also known as main memory, but may also refer to read only memory (ROM) and flash memory. In either case, internal memory generally refers to chips rather than disks or tapes. RAM is the internal workspace of the computer, which loses its content when power is turned off.
